Before you start: Planning makes the difference
A successful raffle doesn't happen by accident. A few minutes of planning leads to measurably more entries and greater organic reach.
Tip 1: Choose an attractive, clear title
The title is the first thing users see in the feed. Avoid vague phrases like "Great giveaway" — instead, describe concretely what's at stake:
- ✗ "Cool giveaway!"
- ✓ "Sony WH-1000XM5 Headphones – Enter Now!"
A clear title improves click-through rates and helps with search discovery.
Tip 2: Use all three image slots
Winbase allows up to 3 images per raffle. Use all of them:
- Hero image: Show the prize in high quality (white background looks professional)
- Context image: Show the prize "in action" (e.g. someone wearing the headphones)
- Detail image: Technical specs, packaging, accessories
Raffles with multiple images receive significantly more entries on average.
Tip 3: Set meaningful participation conditions
The conditions system is your most powerful tool for community growth. But: less is more. Too many conditions drive users away.
A proven combination:
- 1× social follow (e.g. Instagram)
- 1× comment or share
- Optional: watch a YouTube video
Avoid setting more than 3 conditions — dropout rates increase exponentially beyond that.
Tip 4: Choose the right duration
7–14 days has proven to be the optimal window:
- Too short (1–2 days): Barely any time for organic spread
- Too long (>21 days): Participants forget about the raffle
Plan the raffle so the end falls on a Wednesday or Thursday — attention in the feed is highest then.
Tip 5: Use the Mystery option strategically
A Mystery Raffle (prize revealed only after it ends) creates curiosity and more organic shares — especially if you build up suspense with hints beforehand.
Ideal for:
- Product launches
- Influencer collaborations
- Seasonal campaigns (Christmas, Black Friday)
Tip 6: Share your short Winbase link
Every raffle has a shareable short link (e.g. winbase.io/r/abc123). Share it directly in your social media bios, stories and posts — the link works everywhere and performs much better than long URLs.
Tip 7: Engage in the comments
Raffles with an active Creator in the comments receive more organic reach. Thank participants, answer questions, and build excitement for the draw.
Bonus: The Mystery Raffle for early birds
Announce your Mystery Raffle 48 hours in advance with a teaser post. "What could the prize be?" — these posts generate enormous organic traffic right at launch.
